WCC Wednesday Night Kids/Youth Ride
GROUP RIDES POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
The purpose of this ride is to engage new youth riders (age 8-15) in the sport of mountain biking and to offer coaching when and where required. We typically split into 2 or 3 sub-groups to allow for kids of similar age and ability levels to ride together which reduces the time we have to be stopped on the trails and keeps kids riding for most of the 90 minutes. The main goal is to be safe and have fun while getting an introduction to the great trail system we have in our backyards. We will never leave a rider behind!
Anyone participating in this ride must be a member of the Waterloo Cyling Club. See, Membership. There is no additional cost to participate in this ride. All riders need to have a mountain bike in good working order, a helmet, and something to drink that they can carry with them on their ride.
Weather permitting the rides happen weekly starting promptly at 6:30pm. Our meeting location is the upper portion of the parking lot at the Glasgow St entrance to the Hydrocut trails. Please check the website or follow the WCC trails twitter account for updated trail conditions. This ride will be cancelled if the trails are too wet and or if there is active thunder or lightning at the start of the ride.
Parent Volunteers – If any parents of kids actively participating in this program would like to volunteer as ride leaders or helpers please email Joe at the address below.
Please direct all inquiries regarding this program to the Waterloo Cycling Club
